Alien invasion (texture painting)

Today our art-teacher has shown us some texture-painting techniques á FengZhu.I mean, yeah, my picture is no world class FengZhu, but I like it. Texture painting is an interesting technique.
It could look a bit more painted, but hopefully next time it gets better. (^-^)
Still need a lot of practise in making speed paintings. Ö_Ö

The scene shows the Berlin/Jannowitzbrücke.

Heeere are the intermediate steps:

At first I looked for a photo (just take your own because of licenses)

Scibble basic scenes and decide for one:

I took the last one and gave it more detail to get an impression of how it could finally look like.
 Then I started adding pictures, making something like a collage

Then I added the alien and started to overpaint light and shadow.

Afterwards I painted some effects and more light, more details...

Even more details and light, and the picture was finished. (^-^)

Game Asset Practice / the market

 
Hi guys!
I am currently about doing some 3d practices again.
This time I modeled and textured two little markets. It is not perfect, but I look forward to get better. This practice took about 2days.
